  1. Displacement - measuring the change in water volume to find the volume of an object submerged in it

    • used for irregularly shaped objects

  2. select a graduated cylinder large enough to fit the object

    • a beaker is a second best option

  3. fill the graduated cylinder with enough water to cover the object

  4. carefully record the volume of water

    • Vi - Initial Volume (initial means beginning)

  5. Place the object in the G.C. and submerge it
