  1. Complete the Metric Units Challenge Activites and turn them in

    • In Google Classroom

    • Due NLT Monday at Midnight

      • should be finished in class today

  2. Greek and Latin Week 1 Quiz on Wednesday.

  • Study your card deck daily.

  • Know the:

    • terms

    • definitions

    • abbreviations

    • whether it is Greek or Latin

Measuring Liquid Volume

  1. Volume is a measurement of how much space a “body” occupies

  2. Liquid volumes are measured in the lab using the metric unit of a liter (l)

    • milliliter (ml)

  3. Tools for measuring liquid volumes include beakers and graduated cylinders

    • Graduated Cylinders are most accurate

  4. A liquid is poured into the instrument and the volume adjusted as needed

    • The surface of the liquid forms a curve called the meniscus.

    • Always measure to the bottom of the meniscus.

Enter the lab and go to your assigned lab station

Use the tools at the lab station to measure out 15.0 ml of the liquid provided
