Grade 8 Lesson

Click here if you are a seventh grade student.

Grade 8 students should check Google Classroom immediately. You have a survey to collect your preferred size for a graduation tee-shirt.

Today, you will continue learning how to analyze motion. This lesson focuses on understanding acceleration.

Step 1: Read pages 494 and 495 of the "Motion Forces and Newton's Laws" chapter attached to this lesson. Pay close attention to what acceleration means and how it is calculated.

Step 2: Read the "Math Skills" example on page 495. Try to solve the sample problem labeled "Practice" at the bottom of the box using the example to guide you.

Step 3: Watch the Acceleration video titled "Screen Recording..." on you tube. Pay close attention to the example calculations. I have also attached the PowerPoint slides if you want to look them over at your own pace.

Step 4: Try it! Solve the acceleration problems on the attached worksheet. Check your solution to the math practice while you do it!

Now, go to Google classroom where you will find these documents and start working!
