Monday, March 2, 2020. Day 2

Homeroom:

Morning Advisory:

Print your data table as needed for Science. An optimal size is about 1/2 page so format creatively.

Grade 7 Agenda:

Dear Ms. Bacon, students may use chrome books for this lesson. Please ask them to carefully return them to the correct slot and plug them in properly.

Do Now:

Homework:

No Homework.

Lesson:

Mr. Wahlstrom is absent today. Please cooperate with Ms. Bacon (your substitute teacher) to the fullest extent.

You will complete a graded reading comprehension activity today.

I ask that during reading and the quiz, there is no talking and Ms. Bacon will determine how she wishes to arrange you while you do so.

  • A reminder: Mis-use of the computers (using other than for the assigned purpose) is not permitted.

Please read the following article and complete the comprehension quiz in class.

Bicycling and Thermal Energy in New York City (article)

Comprehension Quiz (Google Form)

I have printed copies of the reading available if you wish to mark it up. They must be passed in at the end of class.

Student’s who finish early may watch these BrainPop videos and take the quiz for extra practice.

Thank you for cooperating with Ms. Bacon.

Afternoon Advisory:

Grade 8 students may ask for help printing if needed. A game of “Catch Phrase” is in order too.

Respect the game console!

Grade 8 Agenda:

Dear Ms Bacon,

Students should generally not need chrome books for this lesson - unless they are not properly prepared. You may speak with Mr. Purcell and Mr. Grossi about what can be done if there is a need.

Do Now:

Please copy homework into your agenda.

Homework:

“Mutation Creates Superboy” due Wednesday.

Compete all questions per instructions to be passed in.

Lesson:

Mr. Wahlstrom is absent today. Please cooperate with Ms. Bacon (your substitute teacher) to the fullest extent.

  • Her word is final with respect to all decision in class today. She will leave me a note if there is any uncertainty.

  • You may use our materials (glue stick, colored pencils), but they are to be returned neatly to where they were taken from at the end of class.

Printing of data tables is not an option in class today - the chrome books do not permit it. You may not ask to go to other spaces (library, Mr. Purcell’s) to print.

  • You may assemble and pass in your cell structure poster today.

The final poster is due at the beginning of class tomorrow - if for some reason you need to work on it tonight.

  • You will not be permitted any class time tomorrow under any circumstances.

  • Work that is late will have a grade reduction.

  • Be sure your poster has an appropriate title and your name on the front. It must also conform to all other requirements of the assignment.

If you finish early, read and complete “Mutation Creates Superboy”
