Building a Simple Box Truss

today, we will construct our box truss.

Class norms:

Cooperative work

conversational volumes and tones.

Respect materials - use them without wasting.

Respect custodians - clean up your work space thoroughly.

Please be reliable - do not access the material storage area without my help.

Be responsible - do your part for your team. everyone carries the project together.

Mark and cut your chords (long pieces) to length.

Mark your attachment points.

It can be helpful to sketch out a full scale drawing of the truss you are building.

Position your top and bottom chord (long pieces).

Apply glue at all joints (connection spots).

Get everything straight and ready to attach the vertical braces.

Attach the vertical braces. Use a toothpick or a pencil tip to nudge them into “perfect” positions.
